Tools [3]

Humans began using tools during the stone age. Making use of stones, early humans began to fashion their own knives from these slabs to cut their food at the time, or break down other things into smaller pieces.
Alexandrian Greeks expanded the use of mechanical devices during the middle ages through the use of new sources of energy such as water and wind. Out of this, waterwheels and windmills developed.
The industrial revolution, probably one of the most important events in history, saw the development of machine tools, while today, nanotechnology is causing our new tools to be more compact.
In 1969, there were tools found in Kenya that were estimated to be about 2,600,000,000 years old. To date, these are probably some of the oldest tools discovered, yet more, even older, tools are yet to be uncovered.
